A bit about Laura
Living right on the edge of the South Downs, Laura loves to spend time outdoors. She is a keen painter (although detests decorating!) and is a strong advocator of lifelong learning.
What I brought with me
Previously a Primary School teacher with lots of transferable skills:
Working in teams, managing and developing others.
Managing multiple tasks and working to deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Working with attainment data; problem-solving skills.
Managing change and coordinating projects to make it happen.
What I do at Contractus
Work alongside Directors to prepare the company for growth
Establish and adapt systems and procedures going forwards.
Work alongside others to develop a marketing strategy
Maintain the company accounts
What I gained
Putting into practice what I have been learning as I study towards a qualification in accountancy
Contractus have provided me with a mentor to help me get the most out of my practical experience
The ability to work from home has allowed me greater flexibility in managing my work around a busy family life
